A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more. Sunday, April 12th, 2015 -- TO MY FRIENDS -- For the sake of people's happiness —this great vow for kosen-rufu is the SGI's eternal spirit. Brimming with noble determination, let's advance with the perfect unity of "Many in Body, One in Mind"! Sunday, April 12th, 2015 --- DAILY GOSHO --- "This passage is saying that if in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice." (The Essential Passage in Each of the Twenty-eight Chapters of the Lotus Sutra, Emerging from the Earth - The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 214) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, April 12th, 2015 Monday, April 13th, 2015 ---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ---- "In a book about the Japanese warlord Date Masamune (1567–1636), who hailed from the Tohoku region, the author Sohachi Yamaoka wrote: 'A person's worth is measured by how much joy they bring to others.' [1] "SGI members, courageous Bodhisattvas of the Earth, are taking action and engaging in dialogue day after day to bring smiles to the faces of fellow members and joy to people in their communities. They are noble champions of the people and experts in the sphere of peace and happiness who are more admirable than those who boast high social status, fame, or power. "Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'I entrust you with the propagation of Buddhism in your province' (WND-1, 1117). "The more we strive to help others form a connection with Buddhism, the more we can draw forth their inner Buddhahood and make our communities shine brighter."
