The Daishonin says:
"Therefore, the best way to attain Buddhahood
is to encounter a good friend."*
Good friends, are in fact, the true treasures of life.
Praising and inspiring each other to reach greater heights
let's create a glorious history together with our fellow members!

"It must be ties of karma from the distant past that have destined you to become my disciple at a time like this. Shakyamuni and Many Treasures certainly realised this truth. The sutra's statement, 'Those persons who had heard the Law dwelled here and there in various Buddha lands, constantly reborn in company with their teachers,'cannot be false in any way."

"'Although the people may not heed it or may say that it does not suit their capacity, one should nevertheless persist in expounding to them the five-character title of the Lotus Sutra [or Nam-myoho-renge-kyo], [1] because there is no other way than this to attain Buddhahood.'

"Chanting sincerely for others' happiness, we make every effort to tell them about the greatness of Nichiren Buddhism. We embrace the unshakable philosophy and belief that everyone possesses the life state of Buddhahood. Believing in the potential inherent in each person's life and striving to help them reveal it is in itself the heart and spirit of the Buddha.
"Even if those we speak to about Buddhism may not appreciate our efforts at the time, our words will be a cause that activates their Buddha nature.
"Moreover, in making such steady, tenacious efforts to share the Mystic Law, we are walking the great path that leads directly to Buddhahood."

[1] Myoho-renge-kyo is written with five Chinese characters, while Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is written with seven (nam, or namu, being comprised of two characters). The Daishonin often uses Myoho-renge-kyo synonymously with Nam-myoho-renge-kyo in his writings.
