-- TO MY FRIENDS --
I hear that many of our members
living in apartments and housing complexes
are very actively participating
in various local community events!
The bonds that connect us
in our
local neighbourhoods and communities
are the cornerstones of hope, safety
and security for one and all.
Thank you all so much
for all of your noble efforts!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

 -The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
Vol 1, page 345)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Bodhisattva Never Disparaging, who appears in the Lotus Sutra, is described as 'a practitioner at the initial stage of rejoicing" (WND-1, 474). The initial stage of rejoicing is the first stage of practice when one accepts and joyfully starts practicing the teachings of the Buddha.

"Embracing the Buddha'teaching of universal enlightenment, Bodhisattva Never Disparaging showed his profound respect for the Buddha nature in each person he encountered and strove to engage them in dialogue. No matter how arrogant individuals attacked and insulted him, he kept alive his initial joy at dedicating himself to the same great mission as his teacher. That is why he was never defeated.

"Faith is not measured by how many years we have practised or our position in the organisation. When we become arrogant and self-complacent, we lose our sense of joy

"'It is the heart that is important' (WND-1, 949; 1000). Truly admirable are those who never forget their original commitment, who stick with the basics and have faith like water, 'believing continuously without ever regressing' (cf. WND-1, 899)."
