--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Gold can be neither burned by fire nor corroded or swept away by water, but iron is vulnerable to both. A worthy person is like gold, a fool like iron. You are like pure gold because you embrace the 'gold' of the Lotus Sutra."

(The Heritage of the Ultimate Law of Life
- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
page 217)
Selection source: "Teachings of Buddhism",
Seikyo Shimbun, August 18th, 2015

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Daishonin writes: 'Can anything exceed the sun and moon in brightness? Can anything surpass the lotus flower in purity?' (WND-1, 186). The real world is an unending muddy morass of problems and conflicts. However, in the midst of such troubles, Buddhism enables us actualise the brightest and purest way of life.

"The French author Madame de Staël (1766–1817) wrote: 'We must fortify ourselves by our own thoughts, in the midst of the reverses of life.'[1]

"For us, it is our Buddhist faith and practice that produces such courage. The sincere encouragement of our fellow members, who share our commitment, is also an inexhaustible source of courage."
