"In Japan and around the world today, who is it that is propagating the Mystic Law with perseverance and confidence? Who is carrying out the noble work of the Buddha with great and encompassing compassion, their hearts filled with a sense of pride and mission as emissaries of the Buddha? Who has been courageously diving in amid the great sea of the people, encouraging those who are weighed down by suffering? And who has helped one individual after another rise out of the depths of despair, gain fresh vitality, and lead hope-filled lives? It is none other than the members of the SGI.
"You, and no one else, are the ones who have validated the Daishonin's declaration: 'Now when Nichiren chants Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, he is enabling all living beings to attain Buddhahood in the ten thousand years of the Latter Day of the Law'" (OTT, 41).
