--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"As the sutra itself says, 'Each . . . has come to this place on purpose to make certain the Law will long endure.' Shakyamuni, Many Treasures, and the other Buddhas intend to insure the future propagation of the Lotus Sutra so that it can be made available to all the children of the Buddha in times to come. We may surmise from this that their concern and compassion are even greater than those of a father and mother who see their only child inflicted with great suffering."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
""The flow of kosen-rufu is growing from a mighty river into a vast ocean. When sailing the open seas, we must be prepared to be buffeted by lashing winds and rains and tossed by huge waves.
"In the light of the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren Daishonin's writings, the various obstacles that beset us are all proof that we are practising Buddhism correctly. The Daishonin writes: 'The greater the hardships befalling [the votary of the Lotus Sutra], the greater the delight he feels, because of his strong faith' (WND-1, 33). When we have strong faith, encountering obstacles can serve to strengthen our conviction in the validity of Nichiren Buddhism and bring us joy. The phrase in the Lotus Sutra 'living beings enjoy themselves at ease' (LSOC16, 272) doesn't mean not having any difficulties. It means establishing a state of life in which we are fearless, no matter what happens, and are able to overcome every obstacle with confidence and composure, savouring the joy of faith in our hearts each day.
