-- TO MY FRIENDS --
"I'm going to see that person!"
"I'm going to talk with this friend!"
The more effort we make
and the more action we take,
the more people we can help to form a connection with Buddhism
and the more joy we can share with them.
Now, courageously and enthusiastically,
let's hasten to meet others!

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'Myo [of myoho, the Mystic Law] means to revive, that is, to return to life' (WND-1, 149).

"As long as we remain connected to the Mystic Law, we can advance vibrantly along the path of growth and development forever. This formula applies equally to individuals, organizations, and countries. That's why practitioners of Nichiren Buddhism must be people who are continuously growing.

"Striving in exact accord with the Buddha's intent, the Soka Gakkai is also an organisation that is continuously growing. It is an organisation fostering capable individuals and sending them out into society.

"A growing tree is beautiful. A growing person is beautiful. They shine with a special radiance.

"A life without growth, a life of complaint and criticism, a life of resentment and envy, is barren and without beauty.

"In 'The Parable of the Medicinal Herbs' (5th) chapter of the Lotus Sutra, a passage reads:

'All the various trees,
whether superior, middling, or inferior,
take what is fitting for large or small
and each is enabled to sprout and grow.' (LSOC5, 138)

"People, too, have different capacities and capabilities. But as long as they have faith in the Mystic Law, they will be nourished by its compassionate rain to grow and thrive vigorously. This passage teaches the limitless expression of life.

"Young or old, let's put down solid roots in our daily lives, turn our faces to the sun of hope, and make this year one of vibrant growth!"
