"'Shakyamuni Buddha will enfold in his robe those who . . . persevere in propagating [the Lotus Sutra]. Heavenly gods will make them offerings, support them with their shoulders, and carry them on their backs.

"As SGI members, we are striving for kosen-rufu, persevering amid all kinds of difficulties and challenges, just as Nichiren Daishonin teaches. That's why the heavenly deities are sure to protect us, and Buddhas will respond to our earnest prayers. The protective functions of the universe will do their utmost to support and assist those who take courageous action. Buddhism is reason.
"Those who are sincere will win in the end. Those who uphold the correct teachings of Nichiren Buddhism can make the entire universe their ally. Faith in the Mystic Law is the unerring key to attaining a life of great fulfilment."
