--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"To accept is easy; to continue is difficult. But Buddhahood lies in continuing faith. Those who uphold this sutra should be prepared to meet difficulties."

- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 471)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Nichiren Buddhism is a profound teaching of compassion and hope for creating a better future. It teaches a practice for overcoming hardships.

"Among our members who are currently challenging themselves courageously in Buddhist dialogue, some may well be facing problems of their own unknown to others, such as poor health, difficulties at work, and family issues. But in spite of their individual struggles, they are chanting for the happiness of themselves and others. They are making unsparing efforts to reach out and talk about their beliefs for the welfare of the people and society. There is surely no nobler way of life.

"The Austrian poet Hugo von Hofmannsthal (1874–1929) wrote: 'Without exerting oneself one never gets anything worthwhile, nothing that endures beyond the moment.' [1]

"We can only make a great philosophy a living part of us, our backbone, through steadfastly putting it into practice undeterred by any hardships."

SGI Newsletter No. 9199, The Song of Human Victory, Adorning the Soka Gakkai's Founding Month with Practice and Study, from 15th Nov., 2014, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun translation released 12th Feb. 2015
