A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more. Friday, Feb 27th, 2015 -- TO MY FRIENDS -- What increases the driving force of our future development is the active participation by fresh new capable people in our activities. Together with our newly joined members, let's challenge ourselves to engage in dialogue with as many people as we can! When we do so, happiness and joy spreads. Friday, Feb 27th, 2015 --- DAILY GOSHO --- "Each of you should summon up the courage of a lion king and never succumb to threats from anyone. The lion king fears no other beast, nor do its cubs." (On Persecutions Befalling the Sage - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 997) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, Feb 27th, 2015 Saturday, Feb 28th, 2015 ---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ---- "'The word kudoku [benefit] means to attain Buddhahood in one's present form. It also means the purification of the six sense organs. You should understand that to practise the Lotus Sutra as the sutra itself directs is to carry out purification of the six sense organs.' - From The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, p. 148. "None of the efforts we make in our Buddhist practice are ever wasted. They all become a source of light that makes our lives shine brightly on the most fundamental level. They enable us to bring forth the inner strength to serenely overcome any difficulty, and to develop a vast and untrammeled state of being in which our lives can range freely over the entire universe. "This is the benefit of the purification of the six senses and proof of our human revolution. Just like the fragrant lotus flower that blooms unsullied by the muddy water in which it grows, let us create a great flowering of happiness and victory in our lives amid the challenging realities of society." SGI Newsletter No. 9202, Living the Gosho: Words of Encouragement, (48) All Our Efforts Will Turn into Brilliant Benefits, from 20th Feb., 2015, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun translation released 20th Feb., 2015 * The Japanese kanji is available by clicking on Seikyo Shinbun's web-site address at http://www.seikyoonline.jp/news/index.html --WAGATOMO NI OKURU-- ARATANA JINZAI NO KATSUYAKU KOSO MIRAI NO HATTEN NO CHIKARA NARI.
