-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The first step in developing good relations
in the local community is
thoughtful and considerate concern for our neighbours.
Let's always be courteous, polite and kind.
By constantly trying to make friendly conversation with others,
respecting each other's differences,
let's have heart-to-heart exchanges
with as many people as we possibly can!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"In all Japan, who but Nichiren can be called the votary of the Lotus Sutra? By denouncing Nichiren, you would make lies of the Buddha's prophecies. Are you not then an extremely evil man?"
(On the Buddha's Prophecy
- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 401)
Selection source: SGI President Ikeda's message,
Seikyo Shimbun, February 17th, 2015

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The German poet and author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832) wrote: 'To gather pleasure in your mission, / gather gaily with the rest!'[1]
"Nothing can be created from being timid and standing still. Please strive with courage and joy to interact with your friends, those around you, and society at large. Eagerly reach out to and meet people. Eagerly speak with others.
"Formalities aren't important; just speak sincerely. True democracy comes alive in open, frank dialogue.
"As you forge new ties with one individual after another, you will be rewarded with sparkling smiles of gratitude and empathy."
