* Gosho: The Fourteen Slanders - WND-1, 756, "Bodhisattva Never Disparaging of old said that all people have the Buddha nature and that, if they embrace the Lotus Sutra, they will never fail to attain Buddhahood. He further stated that to slight a person is to slight the Buddha himself. Thus, his practice was to revere all people."

The purpose of the appearance in this world of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, lies in his behaviour as a human being."

"In a letter to the lay nun of Kubo, the Daishonin writes:
'Can we count the number of raindrops that fall in a major world system in the space of seven days? Or does anyone know the number of dust particles in the vast lands that make up the worlds of the ten directions? But the benefits one gains by making offerings even to one word of the Lotus Sutra—these, the Buddha says, are truly hard to measure.' (WND-2, 871)
"This is the wonderful thing about the Mystic Law. It is impossible to fully describe the good fortune that all of you are accumulating through your daily efforts to share the Mystic Law and expand our movement for kosen-rufu. I hope you will be confident of the truth of the Daishonin's words, and you will live each day joyfully while constructing your own happiness. That's the key to an incomparably noble and happy life.
