---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"A hundred out of a hundred, a thousand out of a thousand—all will attain Buddhahood, without exception (cf. WND-1, 1009).[1] This is the Daishonin's absolute promise.

"Nichiren Buddhism is a universal religion, open to people everywhere. It seeks to create a harmonious and peaceful world in which everyone attains enlightenment, becomes happy, and thrives together. That's why it can play an important role in realising world peace.

"For the sake of world peace and the happiness of all humankind, we must never allow the Soka Gakkai to be destroyed.

"Let us continue to forge ahead confidently and joyfully, striving together in harmony and high spirits, in vigour and health.

"I hope that, as leaders of our movement, you will do everything you can to help each one of our precious members become happy. Your efforts to protect the Soka Gakkai and SGI will delight the Daishonin above all else."

SGI Newsletter No. 9491, SGI President Ikeda's Speech Excerpts, from 16th Nov., 2016, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 18th Nov., 2016

[1] The Daishonin writes: "If there are a hundred or a thousand people who uphold this sutra, without a single exception all one hundred or one thousand of them will become Buddhas" (WND-1, 1099).
